James 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Confusion is a mixture of uncertainty and chaos. It is more than not knowing what to do; there is a certain turmoil added to the mix. Thus the phrase, “I’m all mixed up” is common when we’re confused. When our mind is in turmoil, when we’re all mixed up, when we don’t even know where to begin to sort out a problem, we are confused. And since this world is such a complex and fast-moving place, we can be confused a lot! To get rid of the confusion and make sense of things, we have to start with facts, something we know to be true because truth doesn’t change. We can count on it. And the more we can count on something, the less confused we’ll be. So we must find a starting place that is rock solid –a place that catches and gathers all the mixed up pieces and puts them in order for us. That place is the Word of God.
The Bible comes from the mind of God, who established truth. The more time you spend reading the wisdom of God, the more you gain the perspective of God. And God’s perspective makes life less confusing. You learn why he created you, what purpose he has for you, where life is headed, and what your ultimate future will be. Life is less confusing when you realize God truly is in control, not to manipulate or order you around, but to assure you that this world is not random and chaotic. God has established basic truths that never change, so there are things you can always count on. You can live with less uncertainty and chaos in your mind. You can live a life of purpose that will make a difference for all eternity. How wonderful to know that when you start getting confused, you have something certain and true to hold onto.
