Taking the Gospel Beyond Our Walls
The Great Commission is not a suggestion — it is the marching orders of every local church. At Maranatha Baptist Church, we believe that every saved believer is called and equipped to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ personally and intentionally.
Our Soul Winning Ministry mobilizes members of all ages to go into the neighborhoods, base housing areas, shopping districts, parks, and communities of Okinawa — presenting the simple, saving message of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ to every person who will listen.
We don't use high-pressure tactics or gimmicks. We use the Word of God and the love of Christ, trusting the Holy Spirit to do what only He can do — open hearts to the saving Gospel.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ
The message we carry is the same one Paul declared in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4. Simple, powerful, and sufficient.
The Problem — Sin
Every person has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Sin separates us from a holy God and carries the penalty of death and eternal judgment.
The Penalty — Death
The wages of sin is death — not just physical death, but spiritual death: eternal separation from God in the Lake of Fire. This is the consequence every sinner faces.
The Payment — Christ
God loved us too much to leave us without hope. Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God, died on the cross as our substitute, bearing the full penalty for our sin — then rose bodily from the grave three days later.
The Pardon — Faith Alone
Salvation is not earned through works, religion, or ritual. It is received by grace through personal faith alone — trusting in Christ's finished work as the complete payment for your sin.
How We Share the Gospel
We go where people are — building relationships and presenting Christ naturally and boldly.
Door-to-Door
Teams go neighborhood to neighborhood, apartment complex to apartment complex — knocking on doors and introducing themselves and the Gospel.
Military Outreach
Reaching U.S. service members at Camp Foster, Kadena, and surrounding bases — sharing Christ with those who are often far from home and open to conversation.
School Visitation
Building relationships with families in the school system and sharing the Gospel through personal visits and community events.
Public Witness
Distributing Gospel tracts and starting conversations in public spaces — markets, parks, and community areas throughout Okinawa.
Follow-Up Visits
When someone prays to receive Christ or expresses interest, we follow up personally — nurturing that new life in Christ toward baptism and church membership.
Online Witness
Sharing the Gospel clearly through social media, YouTube, and personal digital outreach — meeting people where they spend their time.
Trained, Confident, and Ready
Many believers want to share their faith but don't know where to start. Our Soul Winning training program removes that barrier. We use a simple, Scripture-based approach that anyone can learn — regardless of age, experience, or language ability.
New soul winners are always paired with experienced members for their first several outings. You'll watch, learn, and participate at your own pace — building confidence as you go.
Training sessions are held regularly and open to all church members. Our goal is a church full of soul winners — every member, every day.
