Articles of Faith

The Holy Scriptures

We believe that the Bible is the verbally inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God. We believe that God has providentially preserved His Word through the ages. We believe that the King James Version (KJV) is the preserved, inspired Word of God for the English-speaking people. It is the absolute and final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and practice, and it is the only translation used in our pulpit, classrooms, and all ministries of this church.

The True God

We believe in one triune God, eternally existing in three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. They are co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and possess the same attributes and perfections.

(Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 1 John 5:7)

The Person and Work of Jesus Christ

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who became man without ceasing to be God. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, and His substitutionary, blood atonement for the sins of mankind on the cross. We believe in His literal, bodily resurrection from the grave, His ascension into Heaven, and His present ministry as our High Priest and Advocate.

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling them, and sealing them unto the day of redemption.

(John 16:8-11; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13-14)

Salvation and Eternal Security

We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God's power and are thus secure in Christ forever.

The Local Church

We believe that the local, visible church is a congregation of immersed believers, associated by covenant of faith and fellowship of the Gospel. We believe in the autonomy of the local church, free of any external authority or control. We recognize two scriptural ordinances: Baptism (single immersion of a believer in water) and The Lord's Supper (a memorial preceded by solemn self-examination).

Worship and Sacred Music

We believe that God is holy and commands His people to worship Him in a reverent, solemn, and orderly manner that reflects His majesty. We believe that music in the church should edify the spirit rather than appeal to the flesh. Therefore, we exclusively use traditional, Christ-honoring hymns from the hymnal for our congregational singing and special music. We firmly reject Contemporary Christian Music (CCM), rock or pop beats, and all worldly styles of entertainment in our worship services.

Biblical Separation

We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Savior and Lord. We believe in personal separation from all worldly practices, ungodly associations, and sinful amusements. We also believe in ecclesiastical separation, standing apart from theological liberalism, ecumenism, neo-evangelicalism, and any movement that compromises the foundational truths of the Word of God.

The Last Things

We believe in the imminent, pretribulational, and premillennial return of Christ for His Church (the Rapture). We believe that following the tribulation, He will return to earth with His saints to establish His millennial kingdom. We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men — the saved to eternal life and joy in Heaven, and the unsaved to eternal, conscious judgment in the Lake of Fire.

Who We Are

Our Baptist Distinctives

We unashamedly hold to the historical Baptist distinctives. We believe these principles are clearly taught in the Word of God and define our identity and practice as a New Testament church.

Biblical Authority

The Bible is the final and absolute authority for all matters of faith, doctrine, and practice. We do not look to church tradition, councils, or modern psychology. The preserved Word of God (KJV) is our sole manual.

Autonomy of the Local Church

The local church is an independent, self-governing body accountable directly to the Lord Jesus Christ, its only Head. We are not ruled by any denominational hierarchy, board, or convention.

Priesthood of the Believer

Every born-again believer has direct, unfettered access to God through our High Priest, Jesus Christ. Every Christian has the privilege and responsibility to study the Word, pray, and serve God directly.

Two Ordinances

The local church observes only two ordinances, neither having saving power: Believer's Baptism by immersion, and The Lord's Supper, a solemn commemorative meal.

Individual Soul Liberty

Every individual has the liberty and right to choose what they believe about God. Every individual will answer directly to God for their own choices.

Saved, Baptized Membership

Local church membership is restricted only to those who have given a clear, credible profession of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and who have subsequently been baptized by immersion.

Two Offices

The Bible mandates only two scriptural offices for the local church: Pastor (to preach and shepherd) and Deacon (to assist with physical and practical needs).

Separation of Church & State

The state is to govern civil affairs, while the church governs spiritual affairs. The state should not dictate doctrine, and the church should not seek to control the state.
